Procedures and application to become a member...

Hello and thank you for showing interest in joining the best darn UT99 sniper clan around. Make sure to please post an introduction so that we can get to know you.

First off, we are a social clan. We are all friends who enjoy each others company and the game of UT99. We figure it is always better to recruit a nice person with decent skills than it is to recruit a jerk who is a totally awesome player, which the awesome ones usually contain quite a bit of a$$hole in them. You can teach someone how to play but you can't take the a$$hole out of a person. Actually you could. It would take beating them over the head with their own arms after ripping them out of their sockets.

We consist primarily of 30-50 somethings, although we have members of all ages. The minimum age to become a member of [FUN] is 14 years of age. We set this rule because the majority of us are adults and, as adults, our language can become a little colored in Teamspeak. We figure that a 14 year old has pretty much heard it all already unless they've been home-schooled under a rock in the Amazon.

To become a full member, you must have and use TeamSpeak. TeamSpeak is quite the little tool. It is a Voice-over-IP software that allows the users to speak to one another while in game. You can get the client and instructions on how to install it here. There are circumstances where the requirement of teamspeak can be waived, but these exceptions are few and far between. If you want to compete with us in tournaments and rumbles you must have teamspeak.

The recruitment process is really an easy one compared to other clans. The process lasts one month where the recruit wears the [FUN-IT] tag. The final week of the month, your membership is voted on by all full members, however, if you haven't gotten and used Teamspeak by then, the vote is put off until you do. In other words, your recruitment process can drag on indefinitely until you have teamspeak and allowed the full members to get to know you. It helps to make a good impression with the members because they do make the final decision of whether or not you are allowed in.

If you feel that you meet the minimum requirements and are ready to become a member of the most [FUN] clan on the internet then visit the link located here and fill out the application. Someone will contact you. Have a great day and frag ya soon!

An event has recently come up that brought the fact that some rules
and courtesies may not be known by all members. They are rules and
courtesies that are pretty much universal when dealing with clans, teams,
and communities like ours.

First, redirecting is not allowed. This is more of a general rule meant for
guests on our servers. It really doesn't apply to members but discretion
while deciding when this is allowed must be used. Redirecting is defined
as when one guest tells another guest of a server and IP to another clan'
server that isn't related to the server those guests are currently on. For
instance, one guest on our Freestyle server can't tell another guest to
meet them over on the TNT server. This deserves an instant ban. No
second chances. If one guest on our Freestyle server asks a guest to
meet him on our Bolt-Action server this is totally acceptable.

Next, the rules about FuN members 'dual-clanning' have always been in
place but have never actually been documented. Dual-clanning is defined
as a member of FuN joining another clan that actually plays the same
game. Please note it is the same GAME, not gametype. You cannot be
in FuN and another UT99 clan period. If you wanted to go and join a
Counter-Strike clan and remain in FuN, that is fine because it's not a game
that FuN is actively pursuing. This is one of the very few rules that all the
founders actually feel strongly about. If anyone has any doubts about
a situation please run it by one of the founders for clarification.

From the beginning, FuN clan has tried to be more liberal and 'free-flowing'
in the way it conducts itself. Our rules about team play are very loose. If a
member wants to go and join another competitive team just for the sake
of competition, we have no problem with it. In turn, we let non-members
join and play on any team that we have enrolled into competition. The only
rule we have in place regarding this is that one person CANNOT play for 2
teams at the same time in the same competition.

I hope this clears up some things. Have a good one.
