OK.... I got Windows 7 64 bit and I did all of the above and everything runs great except for 2 small problems.

1) If I try and use the D3D8 or D3D9 it errors out saying that the system can't find the d3dx9_26.dll and I need to reinstall the application, but runs fine with the original D3D that came with the game.

2)I am using the onboard sound which sounds great for everything BUT the sounds in the game and static is all I hear for everything except the background music. It is a Realtek high def sound chip wich supports up to 7.1 surround sound.

All drivers and Windows are up to date being as I just built the PC which is an AMD Phenom II 945 Quad core with 4 Gigs of RAM on an ASUS M4A78+ mobo.
Graphics card is an ATI 5770 with 1 Gig of RAM with what Microsoft says is Direct X 11.
Any suggestions?

some where here in the downloads sections is a link to UT renderers. I'm running both 32 and 64 bit (mostly 32bit) and the "OPENGL" drivers seem to work flawlessly. I had similar issues with D3d8 and such.

Sorry Corn. I've been waiting a long time to upgrade my system and I wouldn't have gotten this one if I wouldn't have gotten a really good deal on it.

Sparky, I've never really used the OPENGL drivers cause they looked a little dark, but I'll have to give them a look see. I got the other UT renders and I still get the error. That's what I couldn't figure out cause there is no d3dx9_26.dll on my system anywhere and I can't find it on the install disk either.

OK, I got it all working. If anyone else has the same problem all you have to do is increase the latency in the ini file.

I changed it from 40 to 120...

[Galaxy.GalaxyAudioSubsystem]
Latency=120

All works great now.

Sorry, bud... Either you don't have Win7/64 or you aren't playing on UTDC servers. Nobody has ever found a fix and it's impossible to play on a UTDC protected server with Win7/64. It has nothing to do with the game and everything to do with the fact that UTDC is a native anti-cheat which means it executes code through the use of a DLL to interact with Windows itself. If the DLL isn't engineered to work with a particular operating system than it won't work and you'll either time out or error out.
